OrthoAtlanta in Locust Grove, GA is seeking a licensed Physical Therapist to organize and oversee the physical therapy department, ensuring compliance with regulations and delivering physician-guided care.

You will document care, design home exercise programs, train staff, and engage in program development while maintaining patient confidentiality and professional conduct. GA license and 2 years' experience required.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in healthcare or similar.
  • Graduate from an accredited physical therapy program.
  • Current State of Georgia Physical Therapy license or eligible to receive one.
  • 2 years’ experience as Physical Therapist.
  • Current CPR certification for Health Care Providers.
  • Knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 coding procedures.
  • Thorough knowledge of physical therapy principles and practices.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize and oversee activities of physical therapy department including ensuring compliance with regulations of governmental and accrediting agencies.
  • Provides skilled physical therapy treatment plans in accordance with physician orders, current standards of care and by assessing and interpreting evaluations and test results of patients.
  • Design home exercise programs; instructing patients, recommending and/or providing assistive equipment; recommending follow-up programs.
  • Document and maintain clinical and administrative records regarding patient limitations/interventions, treatments, responses and progress to administered therapy as well as discharge summaries.
  • Maintain patient records confidentially.
  • Record treatment charges daily and completes charge tickets accurately and timely.
  • Facilitate development and monitor department mission, policies and procedures and goals.
  • Oversee development/implementation of programs including post offer testing, FCE and pre-employment screening; conducts testing in accordance with standard practice and by applicable laws.
  • Model teamwork, leadership and professionalism; maintain patient confidentiality.
  • Develop strategic planning and marketing activities to increase OrthoAtlanta’s visibility in the community.
  • Administer and comply with all company policies and procedures including infection control and safety policies.
  • Ensure guidelines for billing and collections of department services are adhered to.
  • Provide direction to Physical Therapy, Assistants and Aides with patient care as requested.
  • Ensure department complies with the Georgia State Physical Therapy Act, codes and regulations.
  • Maintain professional appearance and conduct at all times.
  • Follow all Company policies and procedures.
  • Adhere to employer work practices as described in policy.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with physicians, staff and management.
  • Attend meetings as requested.
  • Provide backup for administrative staff including answering phones, scheduling appointments and checking inpatients.
