Job summary

Excelin Health in Irving, TX is seeking a Physical Therapy Assistant to support patient care under the direction of a Physical Therapist. This full-time role involves implementing the plan of care, guiding patients through advanced therapies, and helping with mobility devices.

The PTA will work with a Rehab Director to deliver skilled therapy, document progress, and coordinate with the Home Care Team to ensure quality outcomes.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited physical therapy assistant program with an Associate's degree in science or applied science.
• Current CPR certification is required.
• Current state license or certification as required by law.
• Must be a licensed driver with insured vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct physical therapy under directions of the physical therapist and in accordance with the physician's plan of care.
• TREATs patient to relieve pain, develop or restore function, and maintain maximum performance.
• Directs and aids patients in active and passive therapeutic exercises, gait and functional training, transfer activities and prosthetic training.
• Utilizes physical agents, including heat, cold, water, light, electricity, ultrasound and massage.
• Instructs patients in care and use of wheelchairs, braces, crutches, canes, and prosthetic or orthotic devices.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
