Job summary

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree from an approved PTA program.
• Current Texas State Licensure (PTA).
• Graduates eligible for licensure will be considered.
• CPR/BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Administers therapeutic exercises and modalities according to the plan of care.
• Instructs and assists patients to learn functional activities (pre-ambulation, transfers, ambulation, ADLs).
• Observes and reports patient responses and progress to the supervising PT; communicates with physicians as needed.
• Fits and trains patients in use of braces, prostheses, and assistive devices (crutches, canes, walkers, wheelchairs).
• May perform clerical duties.
• Promotes professional customer service and collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to meet patient needs.
• Completes documentation including patient care charting, scheduling, and peer reviews.
• Utilizes information systems for charting, billing, and accessing patient information.
