Job summary

Upstate Caring Partners seeks a Registered Physical Therapist Assistant to assist with participant evaluations and assessments, educate individuals and team members, and complete required documentation. The role involves coordination with other health care professionals on IPP/IEP and assisting in equipment adaptation and departmental operations.

Responsibilities include planning and implementing treatments, educating on services and injury prevention, and orienting students and new staff.

Qualifications

• A.A.S. degree or high school diploma plus specialized physical therapy certificate.
• Up to one year of experience.
• Valid NYS Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Assist with program participants’ evaluations and assessments.
• Plan and implement appropriate treatment and goals based on evaluations.
• Educate individuals and team members about findings and treatment plans.
• Educate on ongoing services, injury prevention, ROM, positioning and related PT areas.
• Complete required documentation per program regulations.
• Communicate with health care professionals regarding IPP/IEP.
• Assist with departmental maintenance and supplies.
• Participate in team meetings, trainings, and committees.
• Orient students, volunteers, and new therapists in the program.
• Provide assessment, fabrication, modification, and repair of splints and adaptive equipment.
