Job summary

Southcoast Health seeks a Physical Therapy Assistant to support patients at VNA Rehab, covering Seekonk and Rehoboth with overflow in Swansea and Somerset. The role is full-time, 40 hours, day shift, with driving 3+ times weekly.

The PTA collaborates with a Clinical Manager and licensed physical therapists to prevent disability and restore motor function, requiring an Associate Degree and MA license, plus CPR certification and prior home care experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree in Physical Therapy is required.
• Two years of related experience preferred.
• Must be licensed as a Physical Therapist Assistant by the MA Board (RI as needed).
• CPR certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients to prevent disability, relieve pain, develop, improve or restore motor function and maintain maximum physical, emotional, social and mental performance within the persons capabilities.
• Work under the direction of the Clinical Manager and the Registered Physical Therapist to implement treatment plans.

We are searching for a talented Physical Therapy Assistant

Hours: 40hrs

Shift: Day shift with 1 holiday a year & 1 sat every 6 weeks; 8:00am - 4:30pm

Location: VNA Rehab - This is a FT PTA position to cover Seekonk & Rehoboth primarily with Swansea and somerset overflow

Travel: Driving on average 3 or more times per week required

• An Associates Degree in Physical Therapy is required.
• Two (2) years of related experience required.
• Home care experience preferred.
• Must possess and demonstrate highly effective interpersonal, customer service and communication skills.
• Proficient computer skills, including experience with various software, database and electronic records programs preferred.
• Must be licensed as a Physical Therapist Assistant by the Board of Registration in Medicine of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and may be required in Rhode Island, subject to geographic area assignment.
• CPR certification is required.
