Overview

We are seeking a Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA), internally referred to as our Rehabilitation Assistant or Physiotherapy Assistant, in our Therapy Department at St. Joseph Medical Center (Kansas City, MO), a member of Prime Healthcare. As a PTA, you will work under the supervision of the Physical Therapist. We value a friendly, team-oriented environment and welcome candidates with some or all of the required experience. Shift Available: Days

Employment Type: Per Diem (PRN)

Hours: 8:00 am – 4:30 pm, with Saturday and Holiday rotation

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provides medically prescribed therapeutic services to restore function and prevent disability in patients with musculoskeletal, neuromuscular, cardiopulmonary, and/or integumentary disorders.
• Performs responsibilities in accordance with Physical Therapy, state, and federal regulations, licensing, and accreditation standards.
• Treats patients through exercise, massage, gait and balance training, and other therapeutic interventions.
• Works in an excellent team atmosphere!
• Shift needs: 8:00 am – 4:30 pm, Saturday and Holiday rotation; weekdays as needed/available.

Qualifications

Education and Work Experience:

• Associates Degree in Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA)
• Current state Physical Therapist Assistant license
• Current BLS (AHA) certification upon hire and maintained current

Additional Qualifications (a plus):

• Some experience
