Job summary

Sigma Health Rehab is actively seeking a per diem Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to work in a Skilled Nursing Facility at Hope Center for HIV and Nursing in Bronx, NY. The role offers mentorship, flexible hours, and opportunities to advance with state-of-the-art rehab services.

Ideal candidates are graduates of an accredited OTA program with a current New York State OTA license, ready to contribute to a collaborative rehab team and support patients across daily activities and therapeutic

Responsibilities

• Select therapy activities that follow the plan of care set out by the supervising occupational therapist.
• Assist residents in carrying out daily activities.
• Monitor residents' performance in therapy activities, provide encouragement and document on residents as needed.
• Teach residents how to use special equipment to assist with daily function.
• Collaborate with the OT to establish a rehabilitation plan.
• Maintain cooperative relationships among healthcare team members and contribute to team effort.
