Job summary

Sigma Health Rehab is actively seeking a per diem Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA/COTA) to work in a Skilled Nursing Facility in Bronx, NY. This role supports residents with daily activities and collaborates with the supervising OT to implement the plan of care.

Responsibilities include selecting therapy activities, monitoring progress, teaching use of adaptive equipment, and documenting notes. New grads welcome; mentorship and flexible schedules are offered, with evening and weekend hours

Qualifications

• Graduate OTA program completion required
• Current New York State OTA license required

Responsibilities

• Select therapy activities that follow the plan of care set out by the supervising occupational therapist
• Assist residents in carrying out daily activities
• Monitor residents' performance in therapy activities, provide encouragement and document on residents as needed
• Teach residents how to use special equipment to assist with daily function
• Collaborate with the OT to establish a rehabilitation plan
• Maintain a cooperative relationship among healthcare team members and contribute to team effort

Education
