Job summary

Sigma Health Rehab is seeking a per diem Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to work in a Skilled Nursing Facility in Hollis, NY. The OTA will support therapy plans and help residents with daily activities, operating within a caring clinical team.

We offer mentorship, flexible schedules, weekly pay, and access to advanced rehab technology to enhance patient outcomes. NY licensure is required and prior OTA education is essential.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited OTA program.
• Current New York State OTA license.

Responsibilities

• Select therapy activities that follow the plan of care set out by the supervising occupational therapist.
• Assist residents in carrying out daily activities.
• Monitor residents' performance in therapy activities, provide encouragement and document on residents as needed.
• Teach residents how to use special equipment to assist with daily function.
• Collaborate with the OT to establish a rehabilitation plan.
• Maintain a cooperative relationship among healthcare team members & contributes to team effort.
