Job summary

PruittHealth Corporation in Spartanburg, SC is seeking a Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) for Home Health to provide patient-centered physical therapy in patients’ residences under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist.

The PTA will collaborate with the interdisciplinary team, support care plan implementation, complete timely documentation, maintain licensure, and help meet agency outcomes in a full-time home health setting.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid and unrestricted PTA license/certification.
• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program.
• Foreign-trained candidates must have credentials evaluation showing equivalence.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the plan of care development and implementation under the supervising PT.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to manage the patient care plan.
• Assist in assessing patient function and progress in the home setting.
• Complete timely, accurate documentation at the point of care.
• Maintain licensure, certifications, and clinical records per regulations.
• Support surveys and reporting as required by Licensure/JCAHO.

Physical Therapist Assistant – Home Health Services

Full Time

Location: Spartanburg

Job Purpose

Provide physical therapy treatments to PruittHealth Home Health patients in their place of residence under the supervision/direction of a physical therapist.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with the development and implementation of the plan of care within goals defined by the physician, patient/patient family and interdisciplinary team.
• Help maintain continuity of care by collaborating with the interdisciplinary team and attending physician to develop, integrate, and manage the patient care plan.
• Demonstrate intermediate knowledge of home care and competency in discipline for specific patient care skills, required for the provision of care.
• Meet agency productivity standards and utilize time and resources effectively and efficiently.
• Complete documentation timely, accurately, and at the point of care, according to industry standards.
• Assist the physical therapist in assessing the physical disability and level of function of patients.
• Maintain current license, certification, and clinical records to meet federal, state and agency regulations and guidelines.
• Participate in center/agency surveys (Licensure / JCAHO), and any subsequently required reports.
• Accept responsibility to report any alleged or suspected violations to supervisor and/or others until the issue is resolved.
• Be self‑directed, prioritize, manage time appropriately, and meet outcomes and strategic goals by targeted deadlines.

Qualifications

License, Certification and Education Requirements

• Must have a valid and unrestricted professional license in state of practice.
• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program.
• If foreign‑trained, the program must be deemed substantially equivalent to a Physical Therapist Assistant entry‑level education in the U.S. by a credentials evaluation organization approved by the APTA.

Required Skills and Experience

• Minimum of 2 years’ therapy experience.
• Valid driver’s license and automobile liability insurance.

Preferred Skills and Experience

• Prior Home Health experience is preferable.
