Job summary

AdventHealth in Kissimmee, Florida is seeking a Physical Therapy Assistant to provide home health services and support patient independence under supervision. The role emphasizes collaboration with case managers and therapists to tailor discharge plans and ensure high-quality care.

The ideal candidate holds an Associate degree and PTA license, with strong communication skills and a commitment to evidence-based practices.

Qualifications

• Entry level competency in Physical therapy practice and PTA responsibilities.
• Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Must be able to read, write, and speak conversational English.

Responsibilities

• Maintains open communication with the case manager, primary therapist, and other healthcare professionals to facilitate interdisciplinary continuity of care and appropriate discharge planning.
• Maintains productivity standards as defined by the department and adjusts work hours to meet the needs of patients.
• Participates in departmental meetings, education sessions, and performance improvement initiatives to maintain clinical competencies and adhere to professional and evidence-based practices.
• Monitors patient response to treatment and communicates with the Physical Therapist for necessary adjustments.
• Educates patients, family members, and caregivers on identified needs, ensuring understanding and implements treatment plans established by a Physical Therapist.
• Documents interventions and patient progress accurately, completely, and timely, using measurable and objective terminology in line with standards of practice, insurance guidelines, and department/hospital policies.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job Description:

Sign-On Bonus: Up to $5,000 for eligible applicants

Hours: Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm; weekend on-call rotation
