Sigma Health Rehab in New York is seeking a full-time Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) to join our skilled nursing facility team. You will work under a supervising physical therapist to implement the plan of care, measure motor function, and document progress.

Ideal candidates hold a NY PTA license and have experience in geriatric care or SNF settings; new grads with relevant fieldwork are encouraged to apply. We offer mentorship and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant Program.
• Current New York State PTA License.
• Experience in a skilled nursing or geriatric care setting preferred; new grads with fieldwork welcome.

Responsibilities

• Follow the plan of care set out by the supervising physical therapist.
• Measure and record residents' motor function, strength, and muscle performance.
• Observe and document resident performance.
• Treat residents with techniques such as stretching and massage; assist with specific exercises.
• Maintain resident confidentiality and comply with legal requirements.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to provide coordinated care.

• Experience in a skilled nursing or geriatric care setting is preferred, but new graduates with relevant fieldwork experience are encouraged to apply

Key Responsibilities:

• Follow the plan of care set out by the supervising physical therapist
• Measure & record resident's motor function, strength, and muscle performance.
• Observe and document on resident performance.
• Treat residents with varieties of techniques, like stretching and massage, assist residents in carrying out specific exercises.
• Maintains Resident confidence by keeping information confidential.
• Complies with federal, state, and local legal and professional requirements.
• Maintains a cooperative relationship among healthcare team
