Job summary

Oconto Health and Rehab is hiring a compassionate Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) to join our Therapy Team in Wisconsin. The PTA will work under the supervision of a Physical Therapist to implement treatment plans and support residents in activities of daily living.

The role supports assessments, ongoing education for residents and families, and participation in quality assurance processes. We offer flexible scheduling and a supportive team environment with competitive pay.

Qualifications

  • Requires an active Physical Therapy Assistant license in state(s) of practice.
  • Ongoing continuing education and professional development required.
  • Assumes responsibility for maintaining licensure and certification.

Responsibilities

  • Provide physical therapy services to residents under the direct supervision of the Physical Therapist.
  • Conduct screenings of residents at regular intervals to determine need for intervention.
  • Assist in evaluations under the direction of the Physical Therapist.
  • Identify short- and long-term goals and treatment plans with the Physical Therapist.
  • Conduct individual and group treatment for muscle strength, mobility, gait, balance, ROM and modalities.
  • Assist in selecting PT techniques/media and adapt as needed with resident performance.
  • Monitor resident response to interventions and modify as indicated.
  • Assist in scheduling with the Physical Therapist and team members.
  • Assist with documentation in CMS CMS expectations in NetHealthEMR.

Education

Associate’s degree in physical therapy from an accredited program

Oconto Health and Rehab is hiring compassionate Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) to join our Therapy Team.As a PTA, you will work alongside our growing department of therapists empowering patients to participate in their activities of daily living. In addition, you will help develop strategies and treatment plans to support patient growth and ability to overcome challenges.

This position is Full-Time or Part-Time with flexible scheduling

Job Functions:
  • Provide physical therapy services to residents under the direct supervision of the Physical Therapist.

  • Conduct screenings of residents at regular intervals todeterminethe needfor intervention/treatment.

  • Identifyindications for evaluations atappropriate intervalsandassistin the evaluation under the direction of the Physical Therapist.

  • Assist the Physical Therapist inidentifyinga target list, including short-term goals, long-termgoalsand treatment plan.

  • Conduct both individual and group treatment as assigned by the Physical Therapist and outlined in treatment plan that includes, but is not limited to, areas of muscle strength, coordination, mobility, sensory awareness, sitting and standing, transfer training, balance activities, gait training, range of motion activities and modalities.

  • Assistin theselectionof physical therapy techniques/media and in the sequence of activities, adapts techniques/media asindicatedby the resident’s performance and following consultation with the Physical Therapist

  • Monitor residents’ response to intervention andconsultwith the Physical Therapist if modification isindicated.

  • Assist in establishing and modifying individual resident schedules in conjunction with the Physical Therapist and other team members.

  • Adhere to department and resident schedule andmodifiesasappropriate fortreatment regimen.

  • Trainresidents, family andappropriate staffin the use or application of such equipment.

  • Actively participate in resident, family, and staff education.

  • Consistentlydemonstratesound judgment in the evaluation, planning, implementation, and follow-up of resident therapy programs.

  • Assistwith andparticipatesin Quality Assurance Program asrequired.

  • To complete compliant and medically necessary documentation from CMS expectations inNetHealthEMR systems

Requirements:
  • Associate’s degree in physical therapyfrom an accredited program.
