Job summary

HSSM is seeking a Physical Therapy Assistant to deliver skilled PT services under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist. You will support patient recovery, follow physician orders, and ensure compliance with clinical and safety standards.

Responsibilities include implementing treatment plans, documenting progress, educating patients, and collaborating with the care team to provide high-quality, patient-centered care.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program.
• Active PTA license/registration in the state of practice.
• Experience treating acute and chronic conditions preferred.
• Strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours as needed to meet patient care demands.
• Proficiency in English (additional languages a plus).

• Deliver skilled physical therapy services to patients with injuries, disabilities, or functional limitations.
• Implement treatment plans including therapeutic exercise, functional training, modalities, and patient education.
• Accurately document daily treatments and patient progress in compliance with Medicare, Medicaid, and regulatory guidelines.
• Monitor patient responses and report significant changes to the Physical Therapist and referring physician.
• Educate patients and caregivers on home exercise programs to support independence and recovery.
• Maintain a safe, professional, and patient-centered clinical environment.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure coordinated, high-quality care.
