Job summary

Muir Home Health in Danville, CA is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our home health team. The PTA provides therapy under the direction of a licensed physical therapist and follows the physician’s plan of care to help patients regain function and reduce pain.

Qualifications

• Valid California Physical Therapy Assistant License.
• Maintain current CPR certification.
• 1+ Years of experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant, home health experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct physical therapy according to directions of physical therapist and in accordance with the physician's plan of care.
• Treat patients to relieve pain, develop or restore function, and maintain maximum performance.
• Direct and aid patients in active and passive therapeutic exercises, muscle reeducation, gait and functional training, transfer activities and prosthetic training.
• Utilize physical agents, including heat, cold, water, light, electricity, ultrasound and massage.
• Observe and report patient responses to treatment and changes in condition to the physical therapist and organization staff.
• Instruct patients in care and use of wheelchairs, braces, crutches, canes, and prosthetic or orthotic devices.
• Maintain records; clinical notes and conference notes for the patient’s clinical record.
