Job summary

Muir Home Health is seeking a compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant to join our East Bay team. As a PTA, you will provide therapy services under a PT and physician’s plan of care, helping patients reduce pain and restore function in a home health setting.

Required are a California PTA license, CPR certification, and a driver’s license. One year of PTA experience is preferred, with competitive compensation and comprehensive benefits offered.

Qualifications

• Valid California PTA license or eligible for licensure.
• Current CPR certification.
• At least 1 year of PTA experience; home health experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct physical therapy under the direction of a licensed PT and physician’s plan of care.
• Treat patients to relieve pain and restore function, maintaining maximum performance.
• Guide patients through active and passive therapeutic exercises, gait and functional training, transfers, and prosthetic training.
• Utilize physical agents (heat, cold, water, light, electricity, ultrasound, massage) per protocol.
• Observe patient responses and communicate changes to PT and care team.
• Instruct patients on use of wheelchairs, braces, crutches, canes, and prosthetic/orthotic devices.
• Maintain clinical records and notes per timeframes; participate in team meetings and in-service programs.
