Job summary

Sigma Health Rehab is hiring a Full-time Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) in a Skilled Nursing Facility setting. A $5,000 Sign-On Bonus is offered to eligible applicants, with a supportive team of licensed therapists and a focus on achieving rehab goals for residents.

Requirements include graduation from an accredited PTA program and valid New York PTA license; prior SNF/geriatric care experience is preferred, but new graduates with fieldwork are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant Program.
• Current New York State PTA license.
• Experience in a skilled nursing or geriatric care setting is preferred, but new graduates with relevant fieldwork experience are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Follow the plan of care set out by the supervising physical therapist.
• Measure & record resident’s motor function, strength, and muscle performance.
• Observe and document resident performance.
• Treat residents with varieties of techniques, like stretching and massage, assist residents in carrying out specific exercises.
• Maintains Resident confidence by keeping information confidential.
• Complies with federal, state, and local legal and professional requirements.
• Maintains a cooperative relationship among healthcare team.
