Job summary

Sigma Health Rehab in Syracuse, NY is hiring a licensed Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) for a full-time position in a skilled nursing facility. You will follow the supervising therapist's plan of care and help residents improve mobility and function.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant Program
• Current New York State PTA License
• Experience in a skilled nursing or geriatric care setting preferred; new graduates encouraged to apply

Responsibilities

• Follow the plan of care set out by the supervising physical therapist
• Measure & record resident’s motor function, strength, and muscle performance
• Observe and document resident performance
• Treat residents with techniques like stretching and massage; assist with exercises
• Maintain resident confidentiality
• Comply with federal, state, and local regulatory and professional requirements
• Maintain cooperative relationships within the healthcare team

Sigma Health Rehab is excited to offer a Full-time Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) position to join our team of skilled therapists in a Skilled Nursing Facility.

PTA Requirements Include:

• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant Program


• Current New York State Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) License


• Experience in a skilled nursing or geriatric care setting is preferred, but new graduates with relevant fieldwork experience are encouraged to apply

Key Responsibilities:

• Follow the plan of care set out by the supervising physical therapist


• Measure & record resident’s motor function, strength, and muscle performance.


• Observe and document on resident performance.


• Treat residents with varieties of techniques, like stretching and massage, assist residents in carrying out specific exercises.


• Maintains Resident confidence by keeping information confidential.


• Complies with federal, state, and local legal and professional requirements.


• Maintains a cooperative relationship among healthcare team
