Job summary

Alameda Elder Services is seeking a licensed Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) to join our team in Alameda, California. This part-time, hourly position offers a $40 per hour rate DOE and a benefits package including dental and vision insurance, PTO, and opportunities for advancement.

You will work under a licensed PT, contribute to evaluations, plan implementation, patient education, and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to ensure high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Physical Therapy Assistant program is required.
• Current and valid PTA license in California is required.
• BLS certification is required.
• Fingerprint clearance from FBI and DOJ is required.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
• Ability to work independently and in a multidisciplinary team is required.
• Prior experience in healthcare or rehabilitation is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist licensed physical therapist in evaluating patient condition and progress.
• Assist in implementing treatment plans including exercise and therapeutic techniques.
• Document patient progress and communicate updates to the PT.
• Educate patients and families on techniques to aid recovery and prevent injury.
• Maintain a clean therapy area and monitor equipment inventory.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care.
• Stay current with PT developments and attend continuing education as needed.

Job Summary

Alameda Elder Services is currently seeking a licensed Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) to join our team full-time in Alameda, California. As a PTA, you will work under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist to assist in providing high-quality physical therapy services to our patients. The PTA will work with a group of patients with varying needs and conditions.

Compensation & Benefits

Responsibilities

• Assist licensed physical therapist in evaluating patient's condition, assessing progress, and developing a treatment plan
• Assist in implementing treatment plans that include exercise, massage, and other therapeutic techniques
• Document patient progress and communicate updates to the treating physical therapist
• Educate patients and families on proper techniques and exercises to facilitate recovery and prevent further injury
• Maintain a clean and organized therapy area and monitor equipment inventory
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure the patient receives well-rounded care
• Stay current with developments in the field of physical therapy and attend continuing education courses as needed

Requirements

• Associate's degree in Physical Therapy Assistant program
• Current and valid PTA license in the state of California
• BLS certification
• Knowledge of and experience with various therapy techniques and equipment
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Prior experience working in a healthcare or rehabilitation setting is preferred
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods of time
• Fingerprint clearance from the FBI and DOJ
