Job summary

Grand River Health, located in Rifle, Colorado, seeks a Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) to join the Rehabilitative Services team on a PRN basis. The PTA provides patient care under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist, delivering prescribed treatments to reduce pain, improve mobility, and restore function while adhering to state guidelines and department policies.

The ideal candidate will have a Colorado PTA license (DORA), BLS certification, and at least 1 year of rehabilitative

Qualifications

• Current Colorado PTA license (DORA) required.
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification required upon hire and must remain current.
• At least 1 year of experience in a Rehabilitative Services setting preferred.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, prioritize patient care, and maintain accurate records.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships with patients and coworkers while managing multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Reviews patient charts and prepares patients, residents, and equipment for scheduled therapy services.
• Implements treatment plans as directed by the supervising Physical Therapist, including therapeutic exercises and use of therapy equipment.
• Monitors patient responses and communicates changes to the supervising therapist; provides status updates.
• Documents treatments and patient responses accurately in department systems.
• Collaborates with Physical Therapists and team members; follows up when patients miss appointments.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
