Job Summary

Provides rehabilitation therapy procedures to patients under the supervision of a physical therapist and assists with patient and caregiver education.

Essential Functions

• Develops and implements treatment programs to restore and maximize patient function, adjusting goals and methods as needed.
• Documents treatment activities in compliance with departmental standards, legal, and reimbursement requirements.
• Instructs and trains other staff, nursing, medical personnel, and students regarding patient needs and rehabilitation services.
• Participates in process improvement, patient satisfaction initiatives, program development, and marketing activities.
• Enhances skills through continuing education, competency participation, and development of new patient care concepts across various populations.
• Maintains productivity standards as per department guidelines.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree from an accredited physical therapy assistant program.
• Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant in Michigan (upon hire).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from AHA or ARC (within 90 days of hire).
• Driver's License for Michigan (upon hire).
