Job Summary

Provides rehabilitation therapy procedures to patients under the supervision of a physical therapist and assists with patient and caregiver education.

Essential Functions

1. Develops and implements treatment plans to restore and maximize patient function, assessing and modifying goals as needed.
2. Documents patient treatments in compliance with department standards, legal, and reimbursement requirements.
3. Trains and instructs other healthcare staff, students, and caregivers regarding patient needs and rehabilitation services.
4. Participates in process improvements, patient satisfaction initiatives, program development, and marketing activities.
5. Enhances skills through continuing education, competency participation, and development of new patient care concepts.
6. Maintains productivity standards as set by the department.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree from an accredited physical therapy assistant program.
• Licensed as a Physical Therapist Assistant in Michigan upon hire.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from AHA or ARC within 90 days of hire.
• Driver's License valid in Michigan upon hire.
