Job summary

Memorial Rehabilitation Institute within Memorial Healthcare System in Hollywood, FL seeks a dedicated Physical Therapy Assistant. Under the supervision of a physical therapist, you will deliver routine PT services to diverse patients and help support recovery after injury or surgery.

You will monitor patient progress, document responses, educate patients and families, assist with discharge planning, and implement treatment plans using standard modalities.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program.
• BLS American Heart E-Card (BLS) required.
• Florida PTA license required.

Memorial Rehabilitation Institute provides highly specialized care ranging from complex multiple trauma, stroke and brain injury to physical and speech therapy. Inpatient care is offered at Memorial Regional Hospital South, with outpatient care available in five different locations. We also have a home health team and resources for long-term care at Memorial Manor, while also offering therapy for pediatric developmental diagnosis through Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital.

Summary:

Under the supervision of a Physical Therapist, provides physical therapy services.

Responsibilities:

Monitors patient’s responses to the treatment plan. Regularly communicates patient progress and recommends possible goal revisions to the physical therapist.Educates the patient and family/caregiver about patient deficits. Assists with patient discharge planning. Provides information regarding appropriate selection/use of adaptive equipment and community resource programs.Implements treatment plan developed by supervising therapist using appropriate modalities. Seeks consultation as necessary.Documents services provided and patient response/progress.
