Responsibilities
The Physical Therapist Assistant - Journey Traveler must be able to travel nationwide for 13-week assignments. This position provides flexibility to travel the country and work in various settings. On assignment, the Physical Therapist Assistant provides physical therapy treatments to patients to facilitate increased independence and functioning under the supervision of a Licensed Physical Therapist.
Responsibilities include attending and contributing to patient care, staffing conferences, and other meetings as a representative of physical therapy, under the direction of the physical therapist. You will be responsible for the effective and efficient delivery of rehab services, adherence to care plans, and timely documentation of services. Collaborate with the rehabilitation team to implement programs suited to each patient's needs. Act as an assistant during tests, evaluations, and complex procedures performed by the Physical Therapist. Instruct patients, families, and caregivers in therapy techniques, maintaining proper documentation, and reporting equipment needs. Ensure high-quality patient service in a compassionate environment. Implement individualized treatment plans and provide therapies such as therapeutic exercises, functional training, manual therapy, airway clearance, and electrotherapeutic modalities. Organize and facilitate treatment groups with the physical therapist. Perform other duties as required.
