Responsibilities

The Physical Therapist Assistant - Journey Traveler must be able to travel nationwide for 13-week assignments. This position provides flexibility to travel and work in various settings. On assignment, the Physical Therapist Assistant provides physical therapy treatments to patients to facilitate increased independence and functioning under the supervision of a Licensed Physical Therapist.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Attending and contributing to patient care, staffing conferences, and other meetings as a representative of physical therapy, under the direction of the physical therapist.
  2. Delivering rehab services effectively and efficiently, adhering to established plans of care, schedules, and documenting services in a timely manner.
  3. Collaborating with the rehabilitation team to implement programs tailored to each patient's needs and capabilities.
  4. Assisting the Physical Therapist during tests, evaluations, and complex procedures.
  5. Instructing patients, families, and caregivers in physical therapy techniques under supervision.
  6. Maintaining proper documentation for all treated patients.
  7. Cleaning, maintaining, and reporting equipment needs.
  8. Providing high-quality, compassionate patient service, respecting individual needs and rights.
  9. Implementing individualized treatment plans established by the primary Physical Therapist.
  10. Providing treatments such as therapeutic exercises, functional training, manual therapy, airway clearance, integumentary repair, and use of modalities.
  11. Organizing and leading treatment groups in collaboration with the physical therapist.
  12. Performing other related duties as required.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant Program certified by the American Physical Therapy Association.
  • Licensed and/or eligible for licensure as required by the state of practice.
  • Available to travel and reside temporarily outside the primary home location.

Posted Salary Range

USD $45.00 - USD $50.00 /Hr.
