Job summary

Memorial Healthcare System is seeking a licensed Physical Therapy Assistant to work under the supervision of a Physical Therapist in Memorial Rehabilitation Institute. The role supports inpatient and outpatient care across multiple locations, including hospital-based and home health services.

You will assist with discharge planning, document patient progress, and help implement treatment plans using approved modalities.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program.
• Licensed PTA in Florida (FL).
• BLS American Heart E-Card CPR certification.
• No prior work experience required.

Responsibilities

• Under supervision of a Physical Therapist, provides physical therapy services.
• Assists with patient discharge planning.
• Documents services provided and patient response/progress.
• Monitors patient's responses to the treatment plan and communicates progress to the care team.
• Implements treatment plan developed by supervising therapist using appropriate modalities.

• Educates patient and family/caregiver about deficits and use of adaptive equipment.

Inpatient care is offered at Memorial Regional Hospital South, with outpatient care available in five different locations. We also have a home health team and resources for long-term care at Memorial Manor, while also offering therapy for pediatric developmental diagnosis through Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital.Summary:Under the supervision of a Physical Therapist, provides physical therapy services.Responsibilities:Assists with patient discharge planning.Documents services provided and patient response/progress.Monitors patient's responses to the treatment plan. Regularly communicates patient progress and recommends possible goal revisions to the physical therapist.Communicates patient status and recommendations to care team.Implements treatment plan developed by supervising therapist using appropriate modalities. Seeks consultation as necessary.May assume responsibility for student supervision.Educates the patient and family/caregiver about patient deficits.
