Job summary

UnityPoint Health in Illinois is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant to join our team, working Mon-Fri 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM with rotating weekends. You’ll partner with licensed Physical Therapists to provide hands-on care, guiding patients to regain strength and independence.

You'll collaborate in a supportive, team-based environment, pursue ongoing learning, and contribute to high-quality care while embracing feedback and professional development.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited PTA program with an associate's degree; state licensure required.
• Bachelor's degree is preferred.
• Two (2) years' experience as a PTA preferred; entry level acceptable with program completion.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical supervision and guidance to therapy technicians and students while actively contributing to staff meetings and interdisciplinary collaboration.
• Support a strong, team-based environment that promotes shared learning and high-quality patient care.
• Pursue ongoing professional development by identifying learning needs and staying current in PT practice, ethics, and regulatory standards.
• Embrace feedback, build new skills, and contribute to the growth of peers and the therapy team.
• Maintain excellence in clinical, fiscal, and regulatory responsibilities while fostering continuous improvement and lifelong learning.
