Job summary

Mercy is seeking a dedicated Physical Therapist Assistant to support our Physical Therapist in delivering high-quality patient care. You will perform delegated physical therapy procedures, document progress, and ensure safety and comfort for patients as part of a collaborative care team.

The role emphasizes addressing age-specific needs, reporting patient safety concerns, and coordinating workload with the therapy aide to maintain efficient department operations.

Qualifications

• Associate degree required for the role.
• Current license to perform as a Physical Therapist Assistant in the applicable State of practice.
• American Heart Association Health Care Provider Basic Life Certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Physical Therapist in providing physical therapy and related tasks as delegated by the supervising Physical Therapist.
• Document patient progress notes and update treatment records.
• Provide safe and effective physical therapy procedures as directed by the supervising Physical Therapist.
• Address age-specific needs for all patients and treat patients and families with respect and dignity.
• Identify and report patient safety issues when identified and coordinate workload with the Physical Therapy aide.
