The main purpose of this position is to assist patients and clients in recovering, improving and maintaining the skills needed to perform activities of daily living and work. This position will provide therapy services to patients and clients under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist and a Home Health Nurse Supervisor or Director. This position must be able to work holidays, weekends, and evenings.
Education: Determined by the Maryland State Board of Physical Therapy Examiners under the licensing requirements for Licensed Physical Therapy Assistants. Experience: Two years of experience as a Licensed Physical Therapy Assistant. Note: Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a non-commissioned officer in Therapy classification or Therapy specialty codes in the Physical Therapy Assistant field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.
1. Candidates for positions in this classification must possess a current license as a Physical Therapy Assistant from the Maryland State Board of Physical Therapy Examiners, 4140 Patterson Avenue, Baltimore, Maryland 21225. 2. Employees in this classification may be required to successfully complete and maintain current certification of cardio pulmonary resuscitation training. 3. Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the State of Maryland.
Employees in this classification are subject to substance abuse testing in accordance with Code of Maryland Regulations 17.04.09, Testing for Illegal Use of Drugs.
