Job summary

UnityPoint Health in Rock Island, IL is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant to work alongside Physical Therapists to deliver therapeutic interventions across acute and outpatient settings. You will help advance patient recovery while gaining broad clinical skills and contribute to accurate communication and documentation.

The role requires graduation from a 2-year PTA program and IL/IA licensure, and offers a collaborative team environment with weekday hours and rotating weekends.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved two-year Physical Therapy Assistant program (AS).
• IL and/or IA state licensure required or licensed eligible.

Responsibilities

• Observe and report resident progress, responses, and any concerns to the supervising Physical Therapist
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to ensure coordinated resident care
• Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation
• Educate residents, families, and caregivers on exercises, safety techniques, and mobility strategies
• Support functional rehabilitation goals aimed at improving independence and quality of life
• Maintains a safe and orderly work environment by performing duties such as routine cleaning of equipment, changing mat sheets and pillow cases between patients, restocking linen and returning equipment and supplies to their proper location
• Help with stocking treatment rooms

Qualifications

Education

• Must be a graduate of an approved two year Physical Therapy Assistant program, with an Associates in Applied Science, majoring as a Physical Therapy Assistant.

Licenses, Registrations and Certifications

• Must have IL and/or IA state licensure
