Qualifications

• Associates degree from an accredited physical therapy program.
• Current license from the state Board of Physical Therapy Examiners.

Responsibilities

• Instructs and assists patients with exercises; observes progress and reports to the PT.
• Confers with staff to plan, modify, and coordinate treatment; communicates with caregivers and family.
• Transports patients to and from treatment areas; secures patients in therapy equipment.
• Administers manual therapy, aquatic therapy, heat, light, sound, and ultrasound treatments.
• Measures joint motion and vital signs to assess treatment effects.
• Monitors equipment use and records treatments.
• Fits patients for braces, prostheses, and assistive devices.
