Job summary

Salamanca-Rehabilitation-and-Nursing-Cente in New York seeks a licensed Physical Therapy Assistant to join our facility team. The PTA will implement treatment plans under a supervising Physical Therapist and support residents with mobility, daily activities, and rehabilitation goals.

The role requires an active NYS PTA license, an associate degree, and ability to work independently and with a team; geriatric-focused experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must possess a current unencumbered NYS license as a Physical Therapy Assistant.
• Graduate of an accredited school with an Associate’s degree in Physical Therapy.
• Geriatric experience preferred.
• A current unrestricted driver’s license and dependable transportation.
• Ability to function independently as well as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Provide Physical Therapy plan of treatments and modalities under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist.
• Communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff.
• Train, supervise and discipline subordinate staff as needed.
• Document resident progress toward Physical Therapy goals.
• Complete daily activity schedules and progress notes as per policy.
• Order necessary equipment and maintain facility documentation as required.
• Maintain confidentiality of resident information and follow infection control policies.
