Job summary

Mercy Health is seeking a Physical Therapy Assistant to provide patient treatment under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist at our Ohio facility. You will document progress, implement programs, and educate patients and families.

Responsibilities include administering treatments, coordinating with the health team, supervising rehab aides, and precepting student clinicians. Commitment to safety and Mercy Health values is essential.

Qualifications

• 2 Year/Associates Degree required.
• Licensed in State of Ohio PT/OT/AT Board.
• CPR Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Administers physical therapy treatments and modalities under the direction of a Physical Therapist.
• Instructs and assists patients and families in continued therapy and use of adaptive equipment.
• Observes patient responses and reports progress to the Physical Therapist.
• Collaborates with PT and health team to plan and coordinate treatment programs.
• Assists in assessment of patient skills and capabilities to determine extent of abilities and limitations.
• Supervises and oversees department rehab aides for patient care related areas.
• Precepts in the direction and evaluation of clinical experience / internships of students from participating colleges and universities.
• Stays abreast of current developments and new technology in physical therapy.
• Provides formal orientation to new Physical Therapy Assistants, aides and volunteers.
• Maintains safety of the work environment including equipment and notifies appropriate personnel if necessary.
