Job summary

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Implements a plan of care established by therapists and incorporates participation by significant others as appropriate.

• Possesses a working knowledge of patient’s insurance coverage, verification and completes required insurance documentation in a timely manner.
• Completes and documents interventions in a timely manner to include Treatment Encounter Notes and billing.

Job Summary:The Physical Therapy Assistant will assist the physical therapist in carrying out an individualized program of physical therapy including treatment, planning, implementation, education, communication and discharge planning to maximize a patient's progress toward achieving functional goals.Duties/Responsibilities:Implements a plan of care established by therapists and incorporates participation by significant others as appropriate.Provides direct patient care, consults with therapists and other specialists, and actively participates in the discharge planning process.Possesses a working knowledge of patient’s insurance coverage, verification and completes required insurance documentation in a timely manner.Conducts therapy practice within defined standards of care for physical therapy for an assistant.Directs the assistance of support staff as allowed to achieve patients’ functional goals.Communicate effectively with other professionals and support staff to achieve positive outcomes and interdisciplinary team discharge planning.Practices facility and departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality improvement program, safety, environmental, and infection control standards, including cleaning of therapy equipment, workstation and shared work areas.Completes and documents interventions in a timely manner.
