Job summary

Ramseur Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Ramseur, NC is hiring a Physical Therapy Assistant to provide patient care under a PT. The role emphasizes adherence to state practice guidelines, accurate documentation, and collaboration with an interdisciplinary team.

The successful candidate will hold a BA or Associate degree in Physical Therapy, have current licensure/registration, and be committed to high-quality rehab services for residents.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited university with a BA or Associates degree in Physical Therapy recognized by the APTA.
• Current license and/or registration in the state.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive treatment to patients under supervision of a PT according to state guidelines.
• Assist PT in identifying appropriate patients and referrals to rehab.
• Document daily participation and progress in progress notes with PT co-signature.
• Ensure MD orders are obtained for treatments, recertifications and discharges.
• Assist with documentation requirements per state guidelines.
• Attend facility and rehab meetings as directed by Supervisor.
• Serve as rehab delegate to the interdisciplinary team.
• Assist with scheduling patients as indicated.
• Complete billing and bill patients ethically for PT services.
• Cover other therapists’ caseload during absences as needed.
• Supervise junior PTA staff or students as needed.
• Maintain professional relationships with staff, patients, families.
• Provide in-service education to rehab staff, facility staff, hospitals and community as needed.
• Comply with all facility safety policies and procedures.
• Protect patient confidentiality and Federal Resident Rights.
• Report to work on time and adhere to scheduled hours.
• Adhere to productivity requirements.
• Foster positive relations with customers and coworkers.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor, Lead Therapist or Regional Manager.
• Comply with facility policies re lunch, overtime, and time off.
