Job summary

Waverly Rehabilitation And Healthcare Center in Waverly, VA is hiring a part-time Physical Therapy Assistant to support a dedicated rehab team. We offer competitive wages, flexible scheduling, PTO, discounts, perks, same-day pay, and annual raises.

Under supervision of a PT, you will assist with patient treatment plans, document progress, ensure MD orders, and participate in team meetings. A VA license and PT degree are required.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited university with a BA or Associate's degree in Physical Therapy recognized by the APTA.
• Holds current license and/or registration in the state of Virginia.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive treatment to patients under the supervision of a PT according to state practice guidelines.
• Assist PT in identifying appropriate patients and referring them to rehab accordingly.
• Document patient progress daily on notes; obtain PT cosignature.
• Ensure MD orders are obtained for treatments, recertifications, and discharges.
• Assist with other documentation per state guidelines.
• Attend facility and rehab meetings when indicated by Supervisor.
• Act as rehab delegate to the interdisciplinary team.
• Schedule patients as indicated.
• Complete billing and bill patients ethically and accurately for PT services.
• Cover other therapists’ patient caseload during absence as necessary.
• Supervise junior PTA staff or students as needed.
• Maintain professional relationships with staff and patients.
• Provide in-service education regarding patient care to rehab staff, facility staff, hospitals and community.
• Comply with facility safety policies and patient confidentiality.
• Report to work on time and adhere to scheduled hours.
• Adhere to productivity requirements.
• Maintain a positive work atmosphere and professional demeanor.
• Perform all other duties assigned by Supervisor or Regional Manager.
• Comply with facility policies re lunch, overtime, and time-off notifications.

Education

BA or Associate's degree in Physical Therapy

Current license/registration in VA
