Waverly Rehabilitation And Healthcare Center in Waverly, VA, is hiring a Physical Therapy Assistant to provide patient care under a PT supervision. You will assist with patient selection, documentation, and coordinating orders in a collaborative rehab team.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited university with a BA or Associates degree in Physical Therapy recognized by the APTA.
• Holds current license and/or registration in the state.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive treatment to patients under the supervision of a PT according to state practice guidelines.
• Assist PT in identifying appropriate patients and referring them to rehab accordingly.
• Document patient's daily participation and progress on progress notes with PT cosignature.
• Ensure MD orders are obtained for treatments, recertifications and discharges.
• Attend facility and rehab meetings as indicated by Supervisor.
• Supervise junior PTA staff or students as needed.
• Maintain professional relationships with coworkers, facility staff, patients and families.
• Provide in-service education regarding patient care or physical therapy services as needed.
• Comply with all facility safety policies, confidentiality and Resident Rights.
