Qualifications

• Associates degree from an accredited physical therapy program.
• Current license from the state Board of Physical Therapy Examiners.
• Proficiency with applicable state, federal, and professional standards.

Responsibilities

• Instructs, motivates, safeguards, and assists patients as they practice exercises or functional activities.
• Observes patients during treatments to evaluate progress and reports results to the physical therapist.
• Discusses and evaluates patient information with therapy staff to plan and coordinate treatment.
• Transports patients to and from treatment areas and assists with positioning.
• Administers manual therapies and modalities such as heat, ultrasound, and aquatic therapy.
• Measures range of motion and vital signs to determine treatment effects.
• Monitors equipment use and records treatment administration.
• Fits patients for orthopedic braces and assistive devices.
