Sterling Therapy Providers in the United States seeks a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to support licensed physical therapists in implementing programs and providing treatments to residents to increase independence and functioning under supervision. The role emphasizes collaborating with the rehab team and documenting care.

The PTA will implement treatment plans, guide exercises, assist PT during tests, organize group sessions, educate residents and families, and maintain accurate records

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program.
• Licensed as required by the State.

Responsibilities

• Implements resident's individualized treatment plan as defined by the primary Physical Therapist.
• Provides individualized physical therapy treatments including modalities and exercises.
• Acts as an assistant to the Physical Therapist when the Physical Therapist is performing tests, evaluations, and complex procedures.
• Organizes and facilitates treatment groups in consultation with the physical therapist.
• Instructs residents, families and other caregivers in the skills and techniques of the physical therapy treatment program under the supervision of the Physical Therapist.
• Works with other members of the rehabilitation team to develop programs and activities.
• Maintains appropriate and timely resident and non-resident documentation for all residents treated.
• Attends and contributes to resident care, staffing and other required meetings as a representative of physical therapy.
• Cleans, maintains, identifies, and reports the need for repair of equipment.
• Ensures residents and families receive high quality service in a caring atmosphere.
