Job summary

Hopkins Restorative Care Center is seeking a dedicated Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) to join our on-site rehabilitation team in Hopkins, Minnesota. You will work under Physical Therapists to evaluate, plan, and implement therapy services aimed at restoring function and improving mobility for our patients.

The role emphasizes compassionate patient care, collaboration with physicians and nursing staff, and adherence to safety standards.

Qualifications

Active Minnesota PTA license.
High school diploma or equivalent; degree in PTA preferred.
Strong clinical skills in rehabilitation techniques, equipment, and safety.
Excellent communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Experience in skilled nursing, rehabilitation, or long-term care preferred.

Responsibilities

Assist Physical Therapists in evaluating patients' abilities, needs and goals.
Help develop individualized treatment plans per physician orders.
Provide PT treatments including therapeutic exercise, gait training, balance and mobility work.
Train patients and caregivers on safe mobility and home programs.
Monitor and document patient progress and update plans as needed.
Collaborate with physicians, nursing and therapy staff for coordinated care.
Maintain compliance with federal, state, and practice standards.
Supervise and guide PTAs as appropriate.
