Job summary

Ivy Tech Community College is seeking adjunct faculty to teach in the Physical Therapy program. The position is temporary, part-time and hired each semester as needed.

The adjunct will create a learning environment aligned with common syllabi and provide effective instruction and assessment for PT students. Responsibilities include meeting all scheduled classes, maintaining attendance/grades, and offering student support outside class time.

Qualifications

  • Earned baccalaureate or higher from a regionally accredited institution.
  • Holds professional licensure or certification in the field.
  • Minimum three years of full-time post-licensure clinical practice; or two years teaching/curriculum experience in PT/PTA.

Responsibilities

  • Teach assigned PT courses and provide effective instruction.
  • Provide syllabus appropriate to course(s) taught and follow content requirements.
  • Maintain attendance and grading records per College policy.
  • Be available to students outside scheduled class time.

Adjunct Faculty positions are temporary, part-time positions hired each semester on an as-needed basis. The adjunct faculty member will be responsible for creating a learning environment that assists students in reaching their goals; and for providing effective instruction and assessment within the framework of common syllabi provided by the School.Report to the Chair of Physical TherapyPay Rate: $47.35/ contact hourPROGRAM OPERATION:Perform all instructional duties necessary to teach and facilitate student learning in assigned classes.Provide syllabus appropriate to course(s) being taught to students and follows syllabus content and requirements.Maintain student attendance and grading records according to College policy as outlined in the Adjunct Handbook.Submit requested information within established timelines.STUDENTS:Be available to students outside scheduled class time to answer questions or provide assistance.Deal with student concerns and, if necessary, consult with program coordinator to resolve issues.INSTRUCTION:Meet all scheduled classes of contracted course(s).Use technology such as Canvas, PowerPoint, etc. as appropriate.In event of emergency absence, notifies program/department chair.Conduct all activities with an appreciation and respect for diversity of people, styles, and views.*Candidates must upload transcripts and/or credentials in order to be considered. You can upload multiple documents in the space where you upload your resume.A qualified clinical education coordinator in the Physical Therapist Assistant program:Possesses an earned baccalaureate or higher degree from a regionally accredited institution; andCompleted academic preparation appropriate to the program; andHolds professional licensure or certification in the field; andHas a minimum of three years of full-time post-licensure clinical practice of which two years of clinical practice experience must include experience as a CCCE or CI in physical therapy, or a minimum of two years of experience in teaching, curriculum development, and administration in a PT or PTA program.Selected candidate for employment will be subject to pre-employment background checks, including criminal history check, and any offer of employment will be contingent upon that outcome.Ivy Tech Community College is an accredited, equal opportunity/affirmative action employer.
