Position Summary:

The PTA Physical Therapy Assistant provides direct rehab care in physical therapy to patients upon physician referral under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist (PT), following all applicable laws, regulations, and standards.

Education, Experience, and Licensure Requirements:

• Graduate of an accredited physical therapy program (ASPT).
• Current registration/license in applicable State, maintained in good standing.
• Preferred: One (1) year experience in post-acute care or related setting.
• CPR certification upon hire or during orientation, maintained current throughout employment.

Job Responsibilities:

• Participate in community health projects as appropriate.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and email.
• Coordinate with patients, families, and support departments to plan patient needs.
• Demonstrate good body mechanics and decision-making skills.
• Understand and follow laws, regulations, and policies governing post-acute care.
• Maintain professional relationships and confidentiality.
• Follow company policies, including harassment and compliance procedures.
• Follow physical therapy treatment plans under PT supervision.
• Accurately chart and utilize therapy software.
• Provide excellent customer service and support patient evacuation when needed.
• Maintain dependable attendance, communicate effectively, and function well within an interdisciplinary team.
• Perform physical activities such as sitting, standing, lifting, and reaching during work hours.
• Read, write, speak, and understand English.
