Byrne Dairy in Town of Camillus, NY is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to support our Physical Therapists and provide hands-on, patient-centered care aimed at regaining strength, mobility, and confidence.

The PTA will work under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist, maintain patient records, communicate with the care team, and contribute to a collaborative, balanced work environment.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Completion of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
  • Current New York State PTA license.
  • CPR certification is required.
  • One year of PTA experience or a relevant internship.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with physicians, staff and management.

Responsibilities

  • Provides physical therapy treatments according to the physical therapists’ treatment plan.
  • Communicates with manager and other health care interdisciplinary team members regarding patient progress, problems or plans.
  • Records daily treatment notes, portions of monthly progress notes, and discharge summaries timely and completely.
  • Maintain patient records confidentially.
  • Records treatment charges daily and completes charge tickets in accurate and timely manner.
  • Implements and executes an established patient treatment plan under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist.
  • Communicates with patient, families, referring physicians and other members of the team.
  • Provides timely written documentation per facility and department requirements.
  • Develops and enhances clinical and professional skills through knowledge and professional associations.
  • Communicates with patient, families and other clinical staff of treatment variations.
  • Provides timely written documentation as required by insurance provider to meet licensing, certification, regulatory, reimbursement requirements and physician treatment plan.
  • Supports and participates in department operations and development.
  • Reports any changes in patient status or needs to supervising therapist on a timely basis.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned;

Education

High School Diploma or equivalent
Accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
New York State PTA license
