Job summary

Twin Lakes Rehabilitation & Nursing is seeking a full-time and PRN Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our resident-centered care team in Virginia. Under the supervision of a Licensed Physical Therapist, you will provide PT treatments to promote independence and functional improvement for our patients.

You will implement treatment plans, collaborate with the rehab team, educate patients and families, and help maintain accurate records.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant Program (APTA).
• Licensed and/or eligible for licensure as required by the state of practice.
• Requires good organizational and time management skills.
• Requires good verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Implements patient’s individualized treatment plan as established by the primary Physical Therapist.
• Works with other rehabilitation team members to implement programs matching patient needs and capabilities.
• Acts as an assistant to the Physical Therapist during tests, evaluations and complex procedures.
• Instructs patients, families and caregivers in PT techniques under supervision of the Physical Therapist.

The Physical Therapist Assistant is responsible for providing physical therapy treatments to patients to facilitate increased independence and functioning under the supervision of a Licensed Physical Therapist.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

• Implements patient’s individualized treatment plan as established by the primary Physical Therapist
• Work with other members of the rehabilitation team to implement programs consistent with the needs and capabilities of each patient
• Acts as an assistant to the Physical Therapist when the Physical Therapist is performing tests, evaluations and complex procedures
• Instructs patients, families and other caregivers in the skills and techniques of the physical therapy treatment program under the supervision of the Physical Therapist

Qualifications

• Must be a graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant Program certified by the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA)
• Must be licensed and/or eligible for licensure as required by the state of practice
• Requires good organizational and time management skills
• Requires good verbal and written communication skills
