Job summary

Sevierville Health and Rehab is hiring a compassionate Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) for our Therapy Team. You will work with residents under supervision to support daily activities and progress toward goals.

Your responsibilities include screenings, assisting in evaluations and treatment plans, conducting group and individual therapy, and documenting CMS-compliant records in NetHealthEMR. Per diem PRN schedule with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• Must have an active Physical Therapy Assistant license in state of practice.
• Associate degree in physical therapy from an accredited program.
• Commitment to continuing education and professional development.

Responsibilities

• Provide physical therapy services under the direct supervision of a PT.
• Screen residents at intervals to determine intervention needs.
• Assist in evaluations and in developing treatment plans with the PT.
• Help establish goals and short/long-term plans for residents.
• Deliver individual and group therapy per the treatment plan.
• Support selection and sequencing of PT techniques and modalities.
• Monitor residents’ responses and adjust with PT input.
• Help schedule residents with the PT and team members.
• Adhere to schedules and adapt as needed for regimens.
• Train residents, family and staff in equipment use.
• Participate in resident, family and staff education.
• Contribute to Quality Assurance activities as required.
• Complete CMS-compliant documentation in NetHealthEMR.

Sevierville Health and Rehabis hiring compassionate Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) for our Therapy Team.As a PTA, you will work alongside our growing department of therapists empowering patients to participate in their activities of daily living. In addition, you will help develop strategies and treatment plans to support patient growth and ability to overcome challenges.

Status: Per Diem PRN

Job Functions:

• Provide physical therapy services to residents under the direct supervision of the Physical Therapist.
• Conduct screenings of residents at regular intervals todeterminethe needfor intervention/treatment.
• Identifyindications for evaluations atappropriate intervalsandassistin the evaluation under the direction of the Physical Therapist.
• Assist the Physical Therapist inidentifyinga target list, including short-term goals, long-termgoalsand treatment plan.
• Conduct both individual and group treatment as assigned by the Physical Therapist and outlined in treatment plan that includes, but is not limited to, areas of muscle strength, coordination, mobility, sensory awareness, sitting and standing, transfer training, balance activities, gait training, range of motion activities and modalities.
• Assistin theselectionof physical therapy techniques/media and in the sequence of activities, adapts techniques/media asindicatedby the resident’s performance and following consultation with the Physical Therapist
• Monitor residents’ response to intervention andconsultwith the Physical Therapist if modification isindicated.
• Assist in establishing and modifying individual resident schedules in conjunction with the Physical Therapist and other team members.
• Adhere to department and resident schedule andmodifiesasappropriate fortreatment regimen.
• Trainresidents, family andappropriate staffin the use or application of such equipment.
• Actively participate in resident, family, and staff education.
• Consistentlydemonstratesound judgment in the evaluation, planning, implementation, and follow-up of resident therapy programs.
• Assistwith andparticipatesin Quality Assurance Program asrequired.
• To complete compliant and medically necessary documentation from CMS expectations inNetHealthEMR systems

Requirements:

• Associate’s degree in physical therapyfrom an accredited program.
• Assumes responsibility for ongoing continuing education and professional development.
• Must have an active Physical Therapy Assistant license in state(s) of practice.
• Assume responsibility for ongoing continuing education and professional development tomaintaincurrent licensure and certification
