Job summary

Sevierville Health and Rehab is seeking a compassionate Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) to join our Therapy Team on a per diem, PRN basis.

You will work under the Physical Therapist to provide therapy services, conduct screenings, and assist in evaluations and treatment plans, supporting residents in activities of daily living and mobility goals.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in physical therapy from an accredited program.

Responsibilities

• Provide physical therapy services to residents under the direct supervision of the Physical Therapist.
• Conduct screenings of residents at regular intervals to determine the need for intervention.
• Identify indications for evaluations and assist in the evaluation under supervision.
• Assist in treatment planning and implementation, including target and long-term goals.
• Conduct individual and group treatments covering strength, mobility, balance, gait, ROM and modalities.
• Participate in selecting techniques/media and adapt as indicated by patient performance.
• Monitor response to intervention and communicate with the Physical Therapist for modifications.
• Assist in scheduling with the Physical Therapist and other team members.
• Complete documentation per CMS expectations in NetHealthEMR.

Sevierville Health and Rehabis hiring compassionate Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) for our Therapy Team.As a PTA, you will work alongside our growing department of therapists empowering patients to participate in their activities of daily living. In addition, you will help develop strategies and treatment plans to support patient growth and ability to overcome challenges.

Status: Per Diem PRN

Job Functions:

• Provide physical therapy services to residents under the direct supervision of the Physical Therapist.
• Conduct screenings of residents at regular intervals todeterminethe needfor intervention/treatment.
• Identifyindications for evaluations atappropriate intervalsandassistin the evaluation under the direction of the Physical Therapist.
• Assist the Physical Therapist inidentifyinga target list, including short-term goals, long-termgoalsand treatment plan.
• Conduct both individual and group treatment as assigned by the Physical Therapist and outlined in treatment plan that includes, but is not limited to, areas of muscle strength, coordination, mobility, sensory awareness, sitting and standing, transfer training, balance activities, gait training, range of motion activities and modalities.
• Assistin theselectionof physical therapy techniques/media and in the sequence of activities, adapts techniques/media asindicatedby the resident’s performance and following consultation with the Physical Therapist
• Monitor residents’ response to intervention andconsultwith the Physical Therapist if modification isindicated.
• Assist in establishing and modifying individual resident schedules in conjunction with the Physical Therapist and other team members.
• Adhere to department and resident schedule andmodifiesasappropriate fortreatment regimen.
• Trainresidents, family andappropriate staffin the use or application of such equipment.
• Actively participate in resident, family, and staff education.
• Consistentlydemonstratesound judgment in the evaluation, planning, implementation, and follow-up of resident therapy programs.
• Assistwith andparticipatesin Quality Assurance Program asrequired.
• To complete compliant and medically necessary documentation from CMS expectations inNetHealthEMR systems

Requirements:

• Associate’s degree in physical therapyfrom an accredited program.
• Assumes responsibility for ongoing continuing education and professional development.
• Must have an active Physical Therapy Assistant license in state(s) of practice.
• Assume responsibility for ongoing continuing education and professional development tomaintaincurrent licensure and certification
