Job summary

Litchford Falls Health & Rehabilitation Center in Raleigh, NC is seeking a qualified Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our rehabilitation team and deliver skilled care to residents under supervision of a licensed PT.

You will implement individualized treatment plans, lead therapeutic exercises, monitor progress, document care, and educate residents and families on home programs, while collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to help residents regain independence.

Qualifications

  • Active unencumbered licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) in North Carolina.
  • Associate’s degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Highly organized and detail oriented.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Provide skilled physical therapy services to residents under the supervision and direction of a licensed Physical Therapist (PT).
  • Implement individualized treatment plans developed by the supervising PT to help residents achieve their rehabilitation goals.
  • Administer therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, gait training, and other prescribed interventions to restore function and reduce pain.
  • Assist residents with mobility training, transfers, balance activities, and therapeutic modalities such as heat, cold, and electrical stimulation.
  • Train residents on the use of assistive devices, including walkers, canes, crutches, and wheelchairs, to promote safe mobility.
  • Explains procedures and treatments to gain residents’ cooperation and allay apprehension.
  • Monitor resident progress and communicate observations and treatment outcomes to the supervising PT.
  • Maintains residents’ medical records with thorough documentation of treatments provided, progress notes, and response to therapy.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure continuity of care and successful achievement of rehabilitation goals.
  • Educate residents and their families on home exercise programs, safety precautions, and strategies to maintain progress after discharge.

What You Need
