An essential part of TOA's services is our Physical Therapy program, where our Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) plays a key role. As a PTA at TOA, you will work directly with a diverse group of physicians and patients, maintaining high standards of patient satisfaction and collaboration.

• Perform quality daily treatments for patients with various orthopaedic conditions.
• Assess patients’ abilities and tolerance to assist in developing treatment plans with physical therapists.
• Communicate regularly with physical therapists, physicians, and patients regarding treatment progress.
• Assist in scheduling and treatment adjustments to meet patient needs.
• Maintain accurate documentation, progress notes, and functional reports for insurance purposes.
• Ensure services and supplies are charged accurately, matching documentation.
• Follow all federal and state regulations and practice guidelines to ensure optimal care.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited therapy program, eligible for Tennessee licensure, with current CPR certification.
• Caring, compassionate, independent, and determined.
• Strong communication skills for interactions with patients, physicians, and team members.
• Effective time management to balance patient care and documentation.
• Ability to adapt to different treatment plans and techniques from various physical therapists.
• Experience in assessing and progressing treatment plans.
• Knowledge of orthopaedic conditions, surgical procedures, and treatment protocols.
• Experience with therapeutic interventions, modalities, and manual therapies.
