Job summary

Phoenix Physical Therapy, Inc. is seeking a dedicated Physical Therapist Assistant to support therapists in patient preparation and delivery of treatment at our Kentucky facility. The role includes maintaining the patient treatment schedule and assisting with selected procedures under the PT’s direction.

The PTA will prepare equipment, aid in patient care, and help ensure safety during treatments, with housekeeping duties and meetings as required. CPR certification is required.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in physical therapy or PTA program completion.
• Minimum of 2 years experience in a Physical Therapy facility, nursing home or rehabilitation agency preferred.
• Current CPR certificate.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients and equipment for treatment.
• Assist the Physical Therapist in selected procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
• Maintain a patient treatment schedule aligned with facility needs.
• Confer with management staff to inform of patient needs, progress or changes in treatment.
• Aid in the care and safety of patients.
• Perform housekeeping duties to maintain order and cleanliness.
• Attend facility meetings as required.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job description

The Physical Therapist Assistant’s p rimary responsibilities include preparing patients and equipment for treatment and assisting the Physical Therapist with selected procedures.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Maintain a patient treatment schedule consistent with the needs of the facility.
• Confer with the person(s) most closely associated with the active management of the patient, keeping them informed of additional patient needs, treatment modifications and/or progress.
• Aid in the care and safety of patients.
• Prepare equipment for patient treatments as requested by the Physical Therapist.
• Assist the Physical Therapist in selected procedures, according to the PT’s directions, by checking patient and equipment during treatment for both comfort and safety.
• Perform housekeeping duties; maintain order and cleanliness throughout the facility.
• Attend facility meetings as required.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education / Training:

• Associate degree in physical therapy or graduate from an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience within a Physical Therapy facility, nursing home or rehabilitation agency preferred.
• Current CPR Certificate

Physical Requirements:

• Dexterous and able to stand for extended periods.
