Job summary

Phoenix Physical Therapy in Washington, DC is seeking a dedicated Physical Therapist Assistant to support the Physical Therapist by preparing patients and equipment and assisting with selected procedures. This role maintains the patient treatment schedule and ensures safety during sessions.

The PTA will collaborate with the care team, handle equipment preparation, participate in meetings, and perform related duties to ensure smooth operation of the facility.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Physical Therapy or graduate from an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience within a Physical Therapy facility, nursing home or rehabilitation agency preferred.
• Current CPR Certificate

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients and equipment for treatment as requested by the Physical Therapist.
• Assist the Physical Therapist in selected procedures, monitoring patient and equipment during treatment for comfort and safety.
• Maintain a patient treatment schedule consistent with the needs of the facility.
• Confer with the care team to inform of patient needs, modifications, and progress.
• Aid in the care and safety of patients.
• Perform housekeeping duties; maintain order and cleanliness throughout the facility.
• Attend facility meetings as required.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job description

The Physical Therapist Assistant’s p rimary responsibilities include preparing patients and equipment for treatment and assisting the Physical Therapist with selected procedures.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Maintain a patient treatment schedule consistent with the needs of the facility.
• Confer with the person(s) most closely associated with the active management of the patient, keeping them informed of additional patient needs, treatment modifications and/or progress.
• Aid in the care and safety of patients.
• Prepare equipment for patient treatments as requested by the Physical Therapist.
• Assist the Physical Therapist in selected procedures, according to the PT’s directions, by checking patient and equipment during treatment for both comfort and safety.
• Perform housekeeping duties; maintain order and cleanliness throughout the facility.
• Attend facility meetings as required.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education / Training:

• Associate degree in physical therapy or graduate from an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program.

Physical Requirements:
